# Compound

> Supply the base asset to a Compound V3 market and hold the cToken that represents your position.

Compound V3 (Comet) runs one money market per base asset per network. You supply that network's base asset to the market and earn a variable supply rate paid by borrowers, plus COMP incentives where Compound is running a rewards campaign on that market. yield.xyz exposes one lending yield per market.

Yield IDs follow `{network}-{token}-compound-v3-lending`, for example `base-usdc-compound-v3-lending`. Query [`GET /v1/yields?providers=compound&types=lending`](/api-reference/YieldsController_getYields) for the markets enabled for your project.

## Entering

Enter takes a required `amount`. yield.xyz builds an approval transaction (skipped if allowance already covers the amount) followed by the supply transaction. Compound issues the cToken in the same transaction.

## Exiting

Exit takes an `amount` and an optional `useMaxAmount` flag to redeem the full cToken balance. Compound burns the cToken and returns the base asset in the same transaction. There is no cooldown or unbonding step.

## Rewards and position

The cToken balance grows over time as interest accrues; `pricePerShare` on the balance is `1`. The yield's public `rewardRate` combines the market's on-chain supply rate with Compound's published COMP rewards rate for that market into a single figure, where a rewards campaign is active.

COMP is claimed manually. When the market is running a rewards campaign, the balance response for the position carries a `claimable` balance with a `CLAIM_REWARDS` pending action; COMP is not paid out automatically when you exit the position, so claim it separately with a `manage` action before or after exiting.

## List the live yields

Copy this request to list the Compound yields enabled for your project. Yield IDs change as markets and networks are added, so query the API rather than hardcoding them.
