# LPing

> Provide liquidity to Curve and PancakeSwap pools and earn trading fees through the Yield API.

An LPing yield represents one pool on one network: you deposit the pool's assets, receive a position that represents your share of the pool, and earn a portion of the trading fees the pool generates. yield.xyz exposes two distinct position models under this category.

## Yield types

| Public `type` | Position model | Integration |
| - | - | - |
| `liquidity_pool` | A single fungible LP token representing a proportional share of the whole pool, with no price range. | [Curve](/documentation/earn/defi/lping/curve) |
| `concentrated_liquidity_pool` | An NFT position confined to a chosen price range (a PancakeSwap v3 position). | [PancakeSwap](/documentation/earn/defi/lping/pancakeswap) |

<Note>
  Curve also runs separate, non-LP lending vaults. Those are a different product, documented at [Lending › Curve](/documentation/earn/defi/lending/curve).
</Note>

## Enter and exit

Both integrations use the standard enter and exit action model. The arguments differ by position model because a classic pool and a concentrated position need different inputs:

* **Classic pools (Curve):** entering supplies an `amounts` array, one entry per pool asset in the same order as the yield's input tokens; entries can be `"0"` to skip an asset. Exiting supplies a single `amount` of the LP token to burn.
* **Concentrated pools (PancakeSwap):** entering supplies one input token's `amount` plus an optional price range (`rangeMin` / `rangeMax`); omitting both opens a full-range position. Exiting supplies the position's `tokenId` and a `percentage` of it to remove.

See the full argument schema in the yield's `mechanics.arguments`, or [`GET /v1/yields/{yieldId}`](/api-reference/YieldsController_getYield).

## Rewards and position value

A classic LP token's value against the pool's assets rises as trading fees accrue: reward claiming is automatic and there is no separate claim step. A concentrated liquidity position instead accrues fees as a `claimable` balance on the position, separate from the underlying liquidity, and claiming requires a manual action. See each protocol's page for specifics.
