# Tempo

> What yield.xyz supports on Tempo: pathUSD vaults through Morpho V2, with gas paid in a stablecoin instead of a native token.

Tempo is an EVM-compatible, EIP-1559 payments chain with no native gas token: transaction fees settle in TIP-20 stablecoins instead of a chain-native asset. yield.xyz supports pathUSD vault yields on Tempo through Morpho V2.

## Integration notes

Tempo has no native gas token. Gas price (`maxFeePerGas`) is denominated in attodollars (10-18 USD) per unit of gas, and the settled charge is deducted in a TIP-20 stablecoin, pathUSD by default, through an on-chain Fee AMM that converts between fee tokens. Build gas estimates and balance checks against the fee token rather than a native coin.

pathUSD is a TIP-20 precompile predeployed at genesis and pegged roughly 1:1 to the US dollar. It is both Tempo's default fee token and the input asset for the Morpho V2 vaults available on the network.
