# APE staking (legacy)

> ApeCoin pool staking is deprecated; new positions cannot be opened, and existing positions can still exit.

  ApeCoin native staking is deprecated. It is excluded from `GET /v1/yields` and cannot be entered through the API. Existing positions can still be exited.

APE native staking deposited ApeCoin into ApeCoin DAO staking pools: an APE-only pool, and NFT-paired pools for BAYC, MAYC, and BAKC holders.

## Existing positions

For a deprecated yield, the API reports `status.enter: false` and `status.exit: true`: you cannot open a new position, but an existing position can still be exited and its rewards claimed through the standard exit and manage actions.
