# HyperEVM staking

> Delegate HYPE to a Hyperliquid validator from a HyperEVM address, with a 1-day lockup and 7-day cooldown on exit.

Delegate HYPE to a Hyperliquid validator from a HyperEVM address. Hyperliquid runs staking on a separate execution layer, HyperCore; the integration moves funds between HyperEVM and HyperCore for you through the CoreWriter contract, so the position behaves like any other yield in the API.

## Enter and exit

Enter with `amount` and `validatorAddress`, both required. After delegating, funds are locked for 1 day but continue earning; rewards are redelegated automatically rather than claimed.

After the 1-day lock, exit with `amount` and `validatorAddress` to undelegate, in full or in part. The undelegated balance enters a 7-day cooldown before it becomes withdrawable.

## Managing the position

| Action | What it does |

| `DELEGATE` | Delegate a locked balance to a validator to resume earning |
| `UNLOCK_LOCKED` | Unlock a locked balance, for example after a failed delegate transaction |
| `WITHDRAW` | Withdraw the undelegated balance to HyperEVM after the 7-day cooldown |
