Bring Your Own Node (BYON) means you supply your own validator addresses instead of delegating to yield.xyz’s Preferred Validator Network or a whitelabel node. Your infrastructure and its revenue stay yours; yield.xyz still indexes positions, validator metadata, and reward history around it the same way it does for any other validator.

When it applies

BYON applies only to staking yields where you select a validator on enter, that is, yields with mechanics.requiresValidatorSelection: true. For those yields, an enter request takes a validatorAddress (or validatorAddresses for yields that support splitting a delegation across multiple validators). With BYON, that address is one you control; the enter request otherwise looks identical to entering with a PVN or whitelabel validator. Fetch the yield’s validators with GET /v1/yields/{yieldId}/validators to confirm your address is indexed and returns the expected commission, status, and rewardRate before you route production traffic to it. See Preferred validators for the full validator object.

Validator setup options

BYON is one of three validator setups. You can combine them: route delegations to your own nodes where you operate them, and fill coverage gaps with the other two.

Who BYON is for

You already run validators on networks such as Ethereum, Solana, or Cosmos. BYON integrates those nodes into the Yield API, and you can add coverage for other networks through the PVN.
You operate dedicated infrastructure for enterprise clients. BYON gives you a unified API across networks while you retain full operational control.
You run validators behind an in-house staking product. BYON lets you keep that infrastructure and expand the asset list without building per-chain integrations.

Get started

BYON onboarding is handled directly by the yield.xyz team: you provide your validator addresses and metadata, and delegations for the relevant yields are routed to your nodes.
