yield.xyz operates its own ERC-4626 vault contracts that wrap yield strategies with configurable fees. OAVs hold one fixed strategy; Sentinel Vaults and Meta Vaults run on a contract whose strategies can be paused, replaced or reweighted by role holders. You configure these yield.xyz-owned vaults in the dashboard; they are not a direct integration with a third-party protocol’s vault.

The three families

In all three, users hold ERC-4626 vault shares and deposits route into the vault’s configured strategies. Role holders operate the vault (harvesting, pausing, and for Meta and Sentinel Vaults, reallocating between strategies); see Roles and signing models.

Ownership boundary

This section covers vault contracts yield.xyz deploys and operates on your behalf. To enter a third-party protocol’s own vault, such as a Morpho or Yearn vault, use a normal DeFi yield: see Earn › DeFi › Vaults.

Configuring and monitoring vaults

OAVs, Sentinel Vaults, and Meta Vaults are all requested and configured per project in the dashboard, and yield.xyz deploys and maintains the underlying contracts. See the dashboard guide for the configuration and monitoring walkthrough.
